Casting Call for Amateur Gardeners – Part 2

Take an online gardening course and go on tv! Maybe. It seems we're past the age of the celebrity chef and going back to the celebrity gardener.  Fresh after we were last contacted by the BBC looking for aspiring gardeners for their Chelsea Flower show programme, we have been informed of another opportunity for enthusiastic gardeners eager to get on the box and show the world what they can do with a trowel, a spade and a bag of fresh compost.

Outline Productions, who previously made BBC2's "The Great British Garden Revival", are making a new series for Sky 1, the Sky networks premier entertainment channel that will highlight and showcase "Stunning, Imaginative and/or Unique private gardens from across Britain and Ireland".

Specifically, they're looking for passionate non-professional gardeners and green fingered fanatics to take part and compete in a prime time TV series.  Ideal candidates would be those who have taken or intend to take a gardening course (you know, like an ADL gardening course…) and can already demonstrate some ability, for example, by having designed or built a garden for a relative, friend or themselves

The TV show will grant the gardener exposure to the nation for their showcase garden and skills and provide a great opportunity to learn from other enthusiasts and really improve your gardening skill.  Along the way you'll be demonstrating your own skill for comparing and critiquing the creations of others and sharing with everyone the joy and achievement of your own horticultural masterpiece.

Sadly for our international students, given the shows focus on UK and Irish gardens it appears you will need to be resident in those countries and have a garden to show off if you want to participate.
