Dr Mark C. Mifsud  – B.Ed (Hons), P.G.Dip.Env.Mgt M.Sc, PhD

A professional academic with a prodigious list of qualifications and accolades to his name, Dr Mark Mifsud has taught, lectured and advised in environmental sciences for nearly twenty years.  Before this he was a teacher of sciences and Adult Education prior to his prestigious career in higher education.



Currently working at the University of Malta where he has spent much of his professional career, Mark is the coordinator of the Masters in Education for Sustainable Development at the University of Malta.   Beyond ADL’s fortunate students, he also provides his formidable talents and knowledge to the Universita di Ca Foscari in Venice – Italy, the University of Yaounde in Cameroon and at NCU and SNHU in the United States.



His skills and knowledge have been recognized in the United Kingdom with memberships and chartered status as a Biologist (Institute of Biology), an Environmental Scientist (Society for the Environment) and a Chartered Science Teacher  (the Science Council).  Expanding his interests beyond environmentalist concerns, Mark is also a keen photographer with associate status in photographic societies in the UK and Malta and speaks Arabic, English, Italian and Maltese. 

Manny Mvula Msc, Cert Ed.

A passionate conservationist with a real drive to ensure today's natural wonders can be enjoyed by tomorrow's generation, Manny Mvula has built a long career harnessing the opportunities of tourism to help provide for rural development in conservation zones. 

Beginning his career as an assistant ecologist for the National Parks and Wildlife Service of Zambia, Manny was well placed to immerse himself in some of the most amazing natural environments in Africa.  His later work in the country would have him expanding his skills and introducing others to the wonders of Zambian wildlife as a professional tour guide and camp manager where, amongst other activities, his role in anti-poaching patrols to protect Zambia’s incredible animals earned him the title of Honorary Wildlife Ranger.

Though he has since moved to the UK to teach and train others, Manny continues to be involved in key conservation issues abroad working as a responsible tourism consultant for Tribal Voice Communications Ltd, who work to improve the livelihoods of the communities who live and depend upon the wildlife reserve as well as provides his considerable knowledge as a volunteer to the Zambia Primate Project and the Born Free Foundation.

As a Lecturer in the UK, he has taught up to degree level students in fields such as conservation, Animal-Human conflict resolution and principles of sustainability.  Manny as lectured at some of East Kent’s most prominent colleges including Canterbury College and Hadlow College
