Formal Recognition
The Academy for Distance Learning is part of the ACS Global Network of colleges who have been offering educational courses since 1979. The quality of these courses command respect in academic circles within a range of disciplines in the UK, Australia and beyond. Many of our staff include world renowned academics from several countries, and it maintains active partnerships with respected institutions in several countries including Ireland, Australia and Singapore. Many of these affiliates are formally recognised by government education authorities in their respective countries.

ADL holds various forms of recognition and validation as detailed below:


TQUK (Training Qualifications UK) – an Ofqual Awarding Organisation

ADL- Academy for Distance Learning, has been recognised as a centre by TQUK (Training Qualifications UK - an  Ofqual approved Awarding Organisation). ADL's Approved Centre Number is: 1709318.

In addition to becoming a recognised centre ADL has had several of its courses endorsed by TQUK. This  means that ADL has demonstrated to TQUK that it has the commitment and capacity to develop quality courses of learning for delivery to learners.

In order to maintain our Recognised Centre status, ADL is subject to yearly EV visits to ensure that we conform to, and are meeting the high standards demanded by TQUK.

Endorsement of our courses by TQUK sets them apart from other vocational learning programmes and is an achievement to be proud of. It further demonstrates that we are an efficient academy with excellent courses and tutorial support. It also means that potential and existing students, employers and universities can be sure of the true value of the learning we provide. A number of our courses have already been endorsed by TQUK, with many others to follow.


  ACCPH - (Accredited Counselors, Coaches, Psychotherapists and Hypnotherapists) 
  is an independent self regulated UK professional body for qualified counsellors, coaches, psychotherapists and clinical hypnotherapists. This body has accredited a number   of ADL's - Academy for Distance Learning courses related to these disciplines. Accredited courses are shown with the ACCPH logo.

ASIQUALASIQUAL - Academic & Skills International Qualifications
ASIQUAL is a UK based awarding body offering qualifications which recognise both students’ academic achievements and evidenced skills.

Validated Awards:  ASIQUAL validation provides a globally recognised endorsement for many specialised and independent courses throughout the world, providing assurance for students, parents and institutions, as well as certification of students’ achievements.

ASIQUAL benchmarks its Validated Awards against two other qualification systems; the FHEQ, the Framework for Higher Education Qualifications in the UK and the EQF, the European Qualifications Framework.

Due to the nature of these two systems, courses deemed to be of university study level will receive dual benchmarking against these two frameworks; courses deemed to be below this level will be benchmarked against the EQF only. 

ASIQUAL have validated the Academy for Distance Learning's qualifications as equivalent to the  Framework for Higher Education Qualifications - UK (FHEQ)  and European Qualifications Framework (EQF) requirements:

 IARC - International Accreditation and Recognition Council
The International Accreditation and Recognition Council (IARC) is a not-for-profit association. IARC focuses on ensuring quality and consistency of services provided by our member€™s schools, colleges, universities and institutions. IARC actively works with those education establishments. Annual auditing and visits are examples of this. Recognition by IARC provides an assurance that a member institution has satisfied a set of academic, ethical and operational standards. IARC standards are unanimously agreed upon by the committee and membership assemblage. To find out more please click here.

The International Accreditation and Recognition Council (IARC) plays a role in ensuring the school’s quality standards relating to course content, delivery, assessment and administration are maintained. IARC's role as an independent recognition association gives reassurance the school has undergone checks relevant to the post-secondary education industry in general terms.

Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB)
The Academy for Distance Learning is an ICB Accredited Training Centre.   ICB is the largest bookkeeping Institute in the world. It's objectives are to promote and maintain the standards of bookkeeping as a profession, through the establishment of a series of relevant qualifications and the award of grades of memberships that recognise academic attainment, working experience and competence.

ICB qualifications are accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculm Authority (QCA) and the regulatory authorities in Wales and Northern Ireland.

Royal Horticultural Society (RHS)

The Academy for Distance Learning offer training for RHS qualifications, including Certificate II to M.Hort. qualifications, which are awarded by the RHS after passing RHS conducted examinations. These awards include ones accredited through the Qualifications Curriculum Authority.

CMA - Complimentary Medical Association
The Complementary Medical Association is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the very highest standards of complementary medicine and natural healthcare. Complementary Medical Association Members are recognised as leaders in the field.

The CMA's primary aim is to promote ethical, responsible, professional complementary medicine to the public and the medical profession.

Through its membership and the National Collection Holders, the NCCPG seeks to rediscover and reintroduce cultivated plants by encouraging their propagation and distribution so that they are grown as widely as possible. The NCCPG works closely with other conservation bodies as well as botanic gardens, The National Trust, The National Trust for Scotland, English Heritage, The Royal Horticultural Society and many specialist horticultural societies.
