It can be a difficult struggle to get back on the work ladder after being made redundant in this day and age. Finding money for retraining can be hard, if not impossible when faced with the immediate demands losing a job can place on someone. But barrier or not being able to update and change skill sets is an essential trait to getting back into leading a productive life.
At ADL, we believe in the power of education to change prospects and lives for the better. That’s why we are proud to announce that we have been selected as a delivery partner by the UK Department for Work and Pensions to provide welfare to work training to eligible individuals through the government scheme to assist people back into work.
Who is this for?
This new programme of course delivery is available to jobseekers and other select benefit claimants through their government support providers – either the job centre or through other third party providers chosen by the government. This organisations may contact ADL on behalf of a client who can deliver to the provider the course or quotation for the cost of the course on demand.
In general thus this programme is open to individuals who are currently unemployed and enrolled in a Department for Work and Pensions scheme for helping them back into work. Currently, only providers located in England, Wales and Northern Ireland are eligible to participate. Individuals currently receiving support from a provider in Scotland or abroad are regrettably not eligible at this time.
How does it work?
For a jobseeker claimant you may be eligible for training under the Governments Welfare to Work programme of which ADL is now a registered provider of courses. Your service provider for your jobseekers claim can provide you with details of which courses they can provide funding for you to enrol in. Depending on the provider they may be willing to provide funds for a whole range of ADL courses from Photography to Zoo keeping.
In this case the provider will be responsible for contacting ADL, and paying for your course, allowing you to enrol and benefit from ADL’s student first model to help you improve your knowledge, skills and prospects.
