Advanced Certificate In Applied Science
Hi, I am very interested in the applied sciences qualification. I currently work for the NHS and want to progress to paramedic. They require me to have a GCSE C or an Applied sciences qualification. Looking at the module options for this qualification. Do you have to take 4 of these modules for it become an applied science qualification? or would taking these individually count: Human Anatomy BSC112CLD, Human Biology IB Bioergetics BSC201, Human Biology II Muscles & Movement BSC202, Human Biology III Cardio Respiratory Performance BSC301 CLD. Also, is the qualification an NVQ (if not what) and how do the exams take place and how often? Kind regards Jamie
Hi Jamie and thank you for getting in touch.
We are an approved course provider for the NHS and have a number of students who have either completed the course, or are studying with us now. The NHS typically ask students to take Biochemistry l, ll and lll, plus Cell Biology. If the NHS are happy with the courses you cite, then we can accommodate them into the Advanced Certificate.
We deliver our courses globally and so it is not possible for us to be on any one National Framework. However, this has not stopped our courses being recognised and accepted by organisations like the NHS. We are a Recognised Centre for TQUK - Training Qualifications UK - An Ofqual Approved Awarding Organisation and this course has been endorsed by them. Therefore, your qualification will be issued by them and the NHS will be able to check their status on the Ofqual Register.
There is a 1.5 hour exam after all the lessons and assignments have been completed, at the end of each module. This is taken at a time and place of your choosing, under the supervision of a professional person of your choice.
I hope that this information is helpful.
I wanted to know if I do this course and pass could i use this qualification to university and be accepted.also how many moduels are their all together.thanks
Although we can never guarantee that a course qualification will be accepted by a university, we can say that we have many students sent to us from the NHS (National Health Service) to complete a number of pre-medical programs that we do, which includes Cell Biology. They tend to ask their students to complete four courses through us: Cell Biology, plus Biochemistry 1. 2 and 3. You can take all 4 courses for just £820.00, a saving of £480.00 on purchasing the courses separately.
The Cell Biology course is also included as a module in our Advanced Diploma in Medical Science. This course has been approved by the Royal College of Surgeons in Bahrain, Malaysia, plus Ireland and can be used to support an application to medical school in those countries, subject to their other entrance criteria.
