Diplomas to change your life

ADL prides itself in being flexible when it comes to study. We offer everything from eBooks to long courses that get you really stuck into the meat of a subject. But with all this convenience, what is the benefit of throwing yourself at a long, drawn out course of 1200 hours, the amount of time it takes to complete a higher advanced diploma?

Why a Diploma?

There are many benefits to taking a Diploma. If you're coming back to study after a long break, a Diploma can help enhance your current skill set and refresh what you have learned in the past. A Diploma is also excellent if you're starting a subject that you have very little experience in, academic or otherwise, and you can learn new skills throughout your studies. Studying a Diploma also gives you the opportunity to maintain current with your chosen industry. This is especially true for courses with a much heavier emphasis on the practical, such as horticulture courses or environmental courses. While you study a Diploma, it'll be inevitable to make some contacts and links with the industry as well. In some careers, this is vital, for example in conservation careers.

If you decide to take on a Diploma course, don't be surprised to experience a mental boost and feel rejuvenated. This 'brand new leaf' feeling is common when embarking on a study journey and can help you get through the first few assignments until they become more habitual. ADL is here to help you get through a study rut and through any aspect of your course that you may struggle with. Your tutor is also there to help you through your studies and answer questions you may have.

What type of Diploma?

This very much depends on what you want to study. If you are doing a Pre-Medical, a 9 module course, you have set modules that must be completed in order to gain that Diploma. But that's because our Pre-medical Diploma is used to get into University Medical programmes across the world and there are strict criteria to enter these programmes. Other Diplomas, such as our Writing Diplomas, can be much more flexible and you can choose which modules you need for your studies. Our general advice is, if you have a precise career, or study goal in mind, be as specific with your Diploma as you can be. If you're improving a hobby or a craft, then you have more freedom as to what to choose.

What about the cost?

We've addressed cost as a reason not to invest in education as a myth in a previous blog. Rest assured though, if cost is a factor, then you can aim to purchase the course on a payment plan. ADL offers many different types of payment plan for Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Higher Advanced Diploma which a student can use for their benefit. There is also the option of purchasing each module separately and building a Diploma over time.

What's stopping you from taking a Diploma up now?
