Here at ADL we aim to make education as accessible to our students as possible. With this in mind, we have tried to make our courses accessible on as many devices as we can. Provided your device has a browser, you should be able to access your course anywhere. And some devices allow you to download apps that help you access your course.
Step 1: Download Moodle Mobile
We have had students complete their coursework on their phones before. Yes, we were as impressed as you are! But if you have to stick to a study schedule and yet your circumstances mean you've only got your phone or tablet available, here is how you can complete an entire unit from start to finish.
Firstly, download the Moodle mobile application. For Apple devices go here and for Android devices visit here.
Once you have done this, open the app and type in either:
https://ocihclassroom.com/ if you are an RHS student
OR
https://adlstudyzone.com/ if you are studying anything else*
Some of our long term RHS students may have access to both classrooms. You are able to have both classrooms saved on your moodle mobile app and access each easily.
Step 2: Download a PDF viewer if your Device doesn't come with One
Now that you have access to your course on your device, you should download a PDF reader to help you save your course on your phone. Adobe does a free PDF reader for both Apple and Android devices.
With your course notes on your mobile/tablet, you can get on with the assignments! As I have mentioned above, it is possible to complete an assignment via a mobile or tablet, especially if you have access to a wireless keyboard. If you do not, then don't worry, handwriting and posting your assignment is completely acceptable by ADL.
Once you have a course online, you can download the files and have access to them offline too for even more flexibility.
*Note: Do not copy the study zone addresses from a web browser as this will throw back an error. Copy and paste as you see the address above.
