( Charlotte, 08/05/2019 ) Q:

Do you get a recognised qualification out of this?

( 09/05/2019 ) A:

Hello Charlotte,

Thank you for getting in touch about our course.

The course has been developed over many years by industry relevant professionals to teach the knowledge and skills necessary to gain a solid foundation in child nutrition. Unfortunately, nationally recognised qualifications stipulate a minimum standards level, which would mean reducing the quality of the learning we provide in order to meet them. We can provide an example of this separately if required.

We believe that we achieve the correct balance between your qualification being recognised and providing you with the in-depth learning in your chosen discipline that will empower you to succeed. This is because in the real world, the person who can demonstrate that they have the level of knowledge and transferable skills necessary to an employer, will often be more successful than the one who might be endorsed as meeting minimum standards, but who in fact has only received a superficial understanding of the subject.

By selecting study Option A when enrolling, your qualification will be endorsed and issued by TQUK (Training Qualifications UK), an Ofqual Approved Awarding Organisation, for which The Academy for Distance Learning is a recognised centre. In order to maintain our Recognised Centre status, we are subject to yearly evaluation visits to ensure that we conform to, and are meeting the high standards demanded by a company listed on the Ofqual Register.

Although our qualification won't make you a qualified child nutritionist, it can help you for professional development purposes if you are working in a field where the level of understanding you will get from it, will help you do your job better. e.g. teacher, self-employed nutritional consultant, weight loss consultant, dealing with people with Anorexia etc.

It will also be very beneficial to any parent.

I hope that this answers your question Charlotte.

Best regards

Human Nutrition eBook course online. It's surprising how little most people know about the human body and how it works. If we all spent just a small amount of time educating ourselves, we would save years in terms of health problems and hundreds of pounds otherwise spent on health care.

Throughout history there has been a vast array of nutritional claims and dietary advice. For example, there is evidence of dietary regimes involving fasting as far back as in Ancient Greece and many examples since of diet being used either to restrict intake to lose weight or to act as a cure for a medical complaint.  This book will give you the background necessary to understand these theories and make better choices for yourself.
