Famous painter and equally talented garden designer Claude Monet’s garden has been open to visitors since 1980. Between April and November every year, if you find yourself in the area, you can visit the birthplace of many of the most illustrious pieces of artwork of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Kew Gardens is at the end of the district line in London and was first designed in 1299; after a long and complicated history, it’s now open to the public.
