Addiction Counselling
Addiction Counselling Foundation Course
This is an IEAC Accredited Course to help you learn and understand Addiction Counselling.
Addiction Counselling is a specialised area of counselling which seeks to help those with a range of addictions regain control of their lives. The types of substances which people may become dependent upon include illicit drugs (cannabis, heroin, cocaine, etc.) and legal drugs (alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, over-the-counter medications and prescription medications).
This comprehensive course provides an in-depth exploration of severe addiction, its underlying causes, and the practical methods used to support individuals on the path to recovery. It also addresses the emotional, psychological, and social factors linked to addiction, such as trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, and suicide. The aim is not only to reduce harmful behaviours but to support long-term recovery, emotional wellbeing, and improved quality of life.
This course is ideal for aspiring or existing counsellors, support workers, healthcare professionals, and volunteers who want to work with individuals affected by addiction. It is also suitable for those with personal or lived experience who wish to develop practical counselling skills and a deeper understanding of addiction and recovery.
Upon completion, there is a final assessment that can be undertaken at any time, day or night; and you will be awarded a coveted: IEAC (International Education Accreditation Council) Certificate, which will have your name on it, including full course details.
