( Oliver francis, 27/07/2017 ) Q:

Hello, on completion, will I be issued with a certificate in hard body or will it be sent via internet/USB. Plus I'm currently living in New Zealand for 6months and will be returning to the UK early 2018. Would I be able to start my studies over here in NZ? Thanks.

( 31/07/2017 ) A:

Hello Oliver,

Thank you for getting in touch about our courses.

All of our courses are independently bench-marked by ASIQUAL against the FHEQ (Framework for Higher Education Qualifications) and the EQF (European Qualifications Framework). Our Certificate courses are level 4, our Diplomas level 5 (apart from our Level 4 Diploma in Business Management) and our Advanced Diplomas and Higher Advanced Diplomas level 6.

Your qualification will be endorsed and issued by TQUK (Training Qualifications UK) for which The Academy for Distance Learning is a recognised centre. TQUK is an Ofqual Approved Awarding Organisation and ADL's recognition number with TQUK is:1709318. In order to maintain our Recognised Centre status, we are subject to yearly EVs (Evaluation Visits) to ensure that we conform to, and are meeting the high standards demanded by a company listed on the Ofqual Register.

The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) is a non-ministerial government department that regulates qualifications, exams and tests in England. Colloquially and publicly, Ofqual is often referred to as the exam "watchdog".

Therefore, although quite often employers will be more interested in what you know, than where your qualification has come from, they will be able to gauge the true value of your qualification, by checking TQUK's status on the Register if they want to.

Because our courses are delivered via distance learning, you will be able to study from anywhere in the world. Lessons for each course (or module when longer courses are taken), begin with a set aim and reading of the notes that provide a foundation for each lesson. After the reading, you will undertake a set task which may include further research, networking or problem solving. After this you will need to submit a written assignment, which is marked and graded by your tutor and then sent back with any helpful and relevant comments. Finally, once you have have completed all the lessons and assignments of a module, there will be one final exam. This is taken under the supervision of an adjudicator at a pre-approved time and place, wherever you are in the world. The adjudicator must be a professional and not a member of your family, or household. Once the whole course has been finished, you will receive a Certificate and transcript.

We hope that this information is useful and please come back if you need anymore help.

( William, 03/06/2017 ) Q:

Hey, I was just wondering is the diploma level 4 vht 090 Recognised as a proffesional diploma? Many thanks.

( 05/06/2017 ) A:

Hello William,

This Diploma is level 5. We have given the Royal Forestry Association access to the course materials for review, but as yet they have not come back to us as yet.

Employers may well recognise the Diploma because your qualification will come from an Ofqual Approved Awarding Organisation.

I hope that this helps.

( Stephanie Harney, 25/09/2014 ) Q:

Hi my query is there any exams, as I live in Ireland Regards Stephanie

( 30/09/2014 ) A:

Hello Stephanie,

This course has an exam at the end of each module (4 modules in total). However, you do not need to worry if you are in Ireland as you can do all our examinations at your location online if you wish.

Arboriculture 600 Hours Diploma

Diploma in Arboriculture course online. Learn about culturing and caring for trees. This Diploma in Arboriculture focuses on the culture and care of trees, providing a sound foundation for any working or hoping to work with tree establishment or maintenance. TQUK endorsed course logo

This Diploma in Arboriculture is endorsed by TQUK -  an Ofqual approved awarding organisation.

To work in the challenging and stimulating arboriculture industry you need fundamental knowledge and understanding of trees, their amenity value and their indisputable value to the environment. Such knowledge includes the maintenance and management of trees; tree assessment for health, monetary or environmental value, fundamentals of planting, transplanting, pruning, site planning, identification and treatment of pests diseases, nutritional and other disorders, tree surgery, aftercare and advice and tree removal.

Trees are the longest living organisms on earth, they benefit the community and improve our quality of life in almost immeasurable ways. They create the oxygen we breathe, reduce air and water pollution and uptake water to help reduce storm water run-off. They also provide shade, beauty, sound barriers, windbreaks and reduce summer urban heat.

If a tree is growing in a favourable environment and its genetic make-up also favours that environment it will be healthy and grow to optimum size and shape. A knowledgeable arborist understands that this is not always the case and sometimes, through environmental or other factors, trees will need help. They will also know that working with trees is about more then felling them; once a tree is removed it cannot be put back! Arborists are there to encourage and maintain healthy, growing trees where at all possible; their work therefore has an important role in the community.
Opportunities in this growing industry include employment in private specialist contracting businesses, self-employment, local and state government positions. Activities include the maintenance and care of trees and large shrubs in private gardens, public parks, reserves, bushland reserves, recreational areas, industrial complexes, housing estates and institutions.
