Living and working in three countries, Daniel Koren is a great example of what some of our international students can achieve. Towards the end of his last semester for his B.A. degree in Social Sciences at the Open University, Israel, Daniel studied Financial Management. At ADL he specialised in Hospitality Administration focusing on Hospitality Facilities – Accountancy and Bookkeeping.
Daniel has 20 years of experience in Technical Logistics and Warehousing, working in industrial and commercial firms. For the last five years, he has worked in the International Trade as an Import Administrator. As part of his work, he specialises in International Supplies Management (IMA), International Accounts Billing and Financial Transactions.
Daniel works in hundreds of factories all over the world. He has contacts in many countries, from China to Brazil, Sweden to South Africa. He visited China in 2017 and attended one of the largest trade fairs in the world.
Daniel also volunteers as head of the International Department at the Israeli Bookkeeping Association (IBA). He represents the IBA to dozens of bookkeeping bodies worldwide. Part of his role for IBA includes counsellor and director for International Trade courses. Daniel is also involved in PEULA Israel, an organisation for blind and partially-sighted people.
Daniel has strong links to agriculture on his mother’s side, and much of his young life, was spent working on the farm. He married in 2013 and then moved to Romania where he lived and worked on his parents-in-law traditional farm, located at the Eastern Carpathian Mountains. There, he started to promote international agro-tourism and village-hospitality and lodging projects in both Israel and Romania.
Today, Daniel is developing his own Consulting/Training business, KOREN Maintenance and Commerce Services and intends to offer practical education and training for secretaries and administrators working in International and global Industries and Services.
Recently, Daniel attended the latest ICB conference in London and stopped by Canterbury, where the ADL headquarters are based, and gave us the following interview.
