Entrepreneurial Emancipation?

in Business & Marketing , Education on April 29, 2014 . 0 Comments.
ADL Online CoursesAccording to latest UK Government statistics, the number of self-employed people in the country now stands at 4.5 million with over 600,000 individuals registering as self-employed since 2010.  Approximately one in every three new jobs created in the country is a person becoming self-employed and working for themselves.  Many economists are in agreement with the idea that the economy is turning the corner, based in part by a revolution of self-driven improvement from a new breed of entrepreneurs.

Ofcourse as John Galbraith once said, “Economics is extremely useful as a form of employment for Economists”.  It’s also sadly well known that the most dangerous words on the English language still remain US President Ronald Reagan’s famous: “I'm from the government and I'm here to help”.

Real entrepreneurs know that a government largely made up of individuals lacking any real experience in founding or running businesses of their own remains a perilous thing.  At best, one can hope that whatever change is brought in by the ruling parliament of any country will do no harm.  At worst, poor government decisions can seriously undermine your business. Whether by inflicting horrendous bureaucracy and strangling your enterprise under red tape; or through poor economic policy which kills off demand and leaves your would-be customers destitute.

But that’s never been a barrier to enterprise.  Those starting for themselves have long understood that at the end of the day, there’s only one man or woman they can truly depend on and that the only way to meet them is to spend a few moments in front of a mirror.

So having established that it is all up to the individual, what is a budding Entrepreneur to do?   The answer is simple:  Learn everything you can!  Which, conveniently, is where ADL comes in.  Our wide range of courses are suitable for a whole range of potential careers.  To trade you need a product or service you can sell to others and our distance learning courses offer a huge range of educational directions that can help you develop your business into whatever you want it to be.

Consider our business and accounting courses, including book keeping courses certified by the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers.  These courses will help fill in your knowledge of aspects of essential business you might otherwise not be aware of.  Many of them will even give you skills and abilities you can directly use in employment or to sell to others.
